Hellooo from Fame Game!

The hot days of summer have finally arrived! As the sunny weather has moved in, movers and shakers have been heating up the New York scene.

This Should Be Famous:

Computers for Youth

is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping low income children do better in school by improving their learning environment at home.

Computers for Youth’s work is built on their belief that the home holds the greatest untapped potential for improving children’s academic and life-long success.Compared to the classroom or the after-school center, the home has received the least attention from policy makers and educators. It is where children spend the greatest amount of time (only 13% is spent in the classroom) and where children interact with the adults most interested in their overall success-their parents/guardians.

There are many ways to help, visit the Computers for Youth website - www.cfy.org - and make a donation here.

This week’s Fame Game Featured “Mover and Shaker” is Swimwear designer, Pooneh Mohazzabi. Born in Tehran and schooled in the US, Pooneh has lived in many other countries including Germany, Austria, France, the UK, Brussels, the Netherlands, Italy, the U.A.E and Singapore.  Until recently, she spent most of her career working for large global banks.  Her work, multi-cultural leanings and diverse life experiences have taken her to all the corners of the world and have contributed to her international and eclectic style, which is reflected in JOGO by POONEH. Jogo by Pooneh

Pooneh has always loved beaches so it is not surprising that she feels most comfortable and in her element in beachwear.  Pooneh says, “I was disappointed in the current choices in the market place, which focus on form over function and vice versa — so I decided to make my own swimwear and line of beach related accessories, combining eye-catching design with function and comfort.”

Pooneh partnered with Social Life Magazine this past weekend and hosted a fashion show at the Capri in Southampton. Editor Devorah Rose was among the models strutting the informal catwalk at the chic hotel, restaurant and club.

Pooneh is currently ranked 1446 among more than 160,000 people in Fame Game. She is fast making connections on the New York scene, with her top People Connections being SalonTea maven Tracy Stern and blogger Tia Walker.
